Rick Steves travel kit July 6, 2010 ginger 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The travel kit was the perfect size to fit all of my essentials and did not take up too much room in my suitcase.
Great little bag December 26, 2009 Randy W. Williams (Texas) It is great. Lots of places to put stuff, easy to clean up. Well designed for a traveler.
NOT SO GOOD!! August 19, 2009 Donnette Grandbois (Plainville, Ct United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love it I use it for the gym every day. However, I bought the red one and the red dye runs so be careful what you lean it up against. The dye takes about washes before it comes out. If you over stuff it. It will rip (which I did) LOL. I just bought another one but in yellow. OMG the person who design this apparently never used one. NOTHING fits in the slots for the bottles!! If you think they do they should include thime in the kit. I will not buy another one of these they're no improvements in the new one just made it worse.
Useful, But Small May 30, 2009 Bill Thomas (San Antonio TX USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The Rick Steves Travelin' 9-Inch Toiletries Kit is mostly useful, including a pull-out pocket with hanging hook for three small items such as shampoo or liquid soap containers (not included) which can go directly into the shower. The largest item I was able to pack in one of the kit's side pockets was a 7 fl.oz. can of shaving creme, and that was a tight fit. Larger items simply will not go into the kit and must be packed separately, defeating the purpose of having a single kit that can go from suitcase to hotel bathroom. However, the kit is well constructed and easily accommodated all smaller toiletry items.
The perfect little bag December 30, 2008 Mandi (Mannheim, Germany) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've had my Rick Steves 9-Inch Toiletries Kit for almost 2 years now. I live in Europe and travel at least once a month...it goes with me every time. The hanger and mirror really come in handy when I stay in a hostel or a budget hotel where there's no electrical outlet near a mirror to do my hair. I just hang this up somewhere (sometimes on the back of a chair) and use the tiny mirror. It's not ideal but Europe is expensive and I'd much rather spend my money on the museums and souvenirs than on the hotel room :) It's also great for toting my stuff back and forth between shared bathrooms in hostels and B&Bs. I don't have to worry about grabbing tons of little bottles...just my one bag.
I fit everything I need in here for long trips and short trips. If I can't fit it in here, I either need smaller bottles or I need to re-evaluate what I'm bringing. It helps to keep my toiletries from getting out of control. I learned a while ago to just keep what I need in here so there's no more forgetting anything. It's nice just to be able to throw it in my backpack and go.
After two years I've had no problems with the zippers, the mesh compartments, or the hangar. The stitching that divides the inner compartments is coming out but after two years of cramming stuff in here I'm not surprised or upset. I don't remember what I paid for this but it was worth every penny.
