The Classic boasts all of GustBuster's patented, proprietary design and construction technology, including a pinchless open and close release system and a double-reinforced, lightning-resistant fiberglass shaft that's designed not to crimp or snap. The high-impact end cap, meanwhile, helps protect and preserve the beauty of the GustBuster Umbrella. The Classic offers uncommon strength and style that is stronger than most umbrellas. Other details include a curved hardwood J-handle, an attractive fitted sheath, and your choice between automatic and manual opening (This Classic Black is Manual). Wind-tested by the College of Aeronautics to 55 miles per hour, the Classic measures 48 inches in diameter and 36 inches long and carries a lifetime warranty.

| Customer Reviews: Great umbrella! 2nd purchase of the brand. March 29, 2010 CP (Boston, MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
PROS:
Great umbrella! 2nd purchase of the brand. I've used it 4 times since purchase and it held up very well against high winds. We've had some significant storms in the northeast in the past month. I highly recommend this umbrella.
CONS:
This model somewhat awkward to carry as I have a lunch bag and a work bag to carry each morning. It has two loops, suggesting a strap that you can attach as an alternate way to carry the umbrella. I didn't receive a strap so I may suggest that you rig separately.
Super strong and a perfect size March 26, 2010 Robert Beauregard (Boston, MA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I wait on an uncovered train platform in the mornings and then have to walk about 1/2 mile from the train station to my office in Boston. That means a LOT of wind gusts flowing down the city streets that I see ruin lesser umbrellas than my trust Gust Buster.
The 48-inches is generous for one person, but not enough for two, which is the perfect size to keep my outfits dry but not be a nuisance to other pedestrians on the sidewalk.
I had owned a smaller Gust Buster that telescoped closed, but it was too small, so I upgraded to this 48 inch version. The only complaint is that it's not an automatic open -- you need to use two hands to open and close this baby manually. That is tough to do when getting out of a car, or when I'm holding my bag and a coffee.
The hooked handle is very handy, in that I can hang it on the train handrails and let it drip dry, or hook it on my arm when I need an extra hand.
It's very light, so it's not at all troublesome to carry it around for a couple of miles a day.
It truly does combat high winds like a champ. I can turn a corner in Boston and be hit with a 30 mph wind and my Gust Buster simply shudders, but does not bend. It lives up to its name.
What I needed February 20, 2010 Matthew Sterner (New York, NY) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I work in lower Manhattan where the wind tends to whip around the buildings and turn umbrellas inside out, not this one. Stands up to high winds with ease. Looks nice and dries very quickly as soon as I folded it down and shook it, it was practically dry. Great purchase.
