Product Description Small enough to serve as an airline carry-on and large enough to haul heavy textbooks around school, the durable JanSport Air Vital Backpack is a companion you can count on whether traveling across the country or campus. A large main compartment holds a big stack of notebooks and manuals or a couple sets of clothes, depending on your agenda. To carry the weight in comfort the Jansport Air Vital Backpack relies on unique, shock absorbing AirLift shoulder straps to distribute the weight evenly. And to keep heavy contents from shifting back and forth as you walk up a trail or across an airport concourse, side compression straps keep the load tight and riding close to the body. Whether commuting home from school via bus or flying home for the holidays, the slip-in magazine stash sleeve comes in handy for those who like to pass their down time with some recreational reading.

Great daypack November 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought it on a sale in amazon about 6 months back and its great.
Pros + Ergonomic. Feels very balanced even when fully loaded + Can carry laptop (preferable in a neoprene sleeve) + couple of books + water bottle etc.
Cons - Wish the front compartment had more pockets to organize stuff.
Definitely Recommended.
Durable, Comfortable, Perfect September 3, 2008 I love this product! I bought this for a intensive hiking/camping trip and was able to fit all of our clothes and necessities in it. The "Air Vital" straps make carrying the heaviest loads comfortable to your shoulders. My boyfriend loved this product so much he is even using it for college. Great backpack with a smart design!
Great bag with one minor flaw. May 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Jansport always delivers on the quality of their bags. The Air Vital is no exception. It holds my laptop and two large textbooks with ease. The only problem I've come across is that there aren't many small pockets for holding pens and pencils. I've been putting my pens in the iPod pocket at the top, but do I store my iPod and my cell phone there from time to time, so it is a bit hard to stay organized in that pocket.
Decent May 6, 2008 Not bad, but i old version from a couple years ago was lighter and better.
Love It! April 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My six year old daughter wanted a pink backpack for school. I wanted something that would hold up for a few years. It was 30 plus years ago when I began using JanSport backpacks in high school, college, and beyond. They were well built then, and this one is better built than ever! It is big. She carries a large lunch box, her coat and sweater and hat, as well as whatever she is bringing for show and tell. Loaded up it is pretty heavy for her so I sometimes help carry it. She and her friends love the unique padded straps which are very comfortable! The front part has pocket inside for small items. The top has a small zipper near the handle with a pouch inside where she stores at least two pairs of gloves- (you never know when you'll lose one) This backpack is a winner!
