I wasn't sure we needed these with the Rick Steves convertable bag, but I'm glad we got them. They are very light weight, and fold down to almost nothing when not used. What really delighted me is that with them, I could find anything in the suitcase without messing anything else up and that repacking after a night in a hotel was much faster. The three cubes make the bottom layer. My computer is next with an Eagle Creek packing folder, for things that would normally hang, on top and a shoe bag at the end. My coat and umbella fit next to the packing folder on the handle side and I am done!
My only resevation is that the cubes don't seem to be quite as sturdy as the Eagle Creek ones. However, they are lighter weight and take up less room empty and after three trips are still in good shape, so maybe I am needlessly concerned.

I bought rick Steves backpack and it was suggested to buy these cubes. I am so glad that I did. They fit perfectly into the bag and kept everything neat. At certain airpotts the liquids need to be pulled out of the carry on bag and having a cube to just pull out without distrubing everything else made it easy and painless. They are very sturding and so much can fit into each one. I was able to back all of my clothes into the larger one leaving the smaller ones for toiletries, shoes, etc. Because they make such good us of space, I still had room left.
These were perfect for my backpacking trip through Europe. December 16, 2007

I traveled for five weeks through nine countries with one relatively small backpack (an Osprey, also highly recommended) and found these packing cubes to be indispensable. There's no need to get anything more elaborate or sturdy. The great thing about these is that they are feather-light and you can SEE what's in them. Very helpful when you're living out of one bag.
The largest one held six or seven shirts, as I recall, but that's all I was carrying. I imagine I could have carried several more. The medium one was right for undergarments. I used the smallest one for small electronics like my camera and memory sticks. I've since bought another set and use them every time I travel.

These cubes worked great in the Rick Steves 21" Rolling case. Helped to keep like items together and prevented loosing things in the suitcase.

I travel frequently and love packing cubes for organization and convenience. These are great and the price is amazing...a really good buy
