Yay cage! October 5, 2008 I put two of these on my Trek 850 and haven't been disappointed. They've been great to hold everything from water bottles to dunkin' donuts coffee cups (note, I recently moved to the NE and am not particularly fond of DD coffee, but everyone here goes nuts for it. To be honest, I don't even enjoy holding their cups, which is why I'm so happy that my bike doesn't mind it). Of the three different water bottles I've placed in these cages all have fit very snugly - I've no fear that any of them will pop out when I'm riding over gravel, potholes, or bumps in the road.
They're attractive, light weight, and economical. If you need a replacement, then buy these sucka's for your gnarly ride.
Take note, however, if your bike doesn't already have the hardware for a bottle cage, you'll have to purchase that too (and, in all likelihood, drill holes into your frame) as these sweet babies don't come with any bolts.
Works well September 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This works very well on a road bike. It's light and holds a normal sized bottle of water in place in all but the bumpiest of conditions.
different is better September 2, 2008 This design seems to hold a lot more securely than the "traditionally shaped" bottle cage it replaced. No more bending the old cage back into shape to maintain its grip on the bottle.
I like it August 10, 2008 This is better than the cage that came with my new bike. It looks better and is more flexible. I have no problem inserting the bottle back into the cage because the cage is flexible and less stiff than my previous one. I like it for what I paid.
