I'm sure it would have been nice...IF it had ever arrived. December 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this for my son's birthday...was supposed to be here within a week...his birthday came and went....and then another week and then another....No map....I did get a quick refund from Amazon, but it was a little disappointing to be counting on it for one of his birthday gifts and having it never show up. Apparently others who purchased this same map also had difficulty with shipping...buy at your own risk?
An attractive and useful map December 14, 2008 I mounted it on the wall above my computer so I can easily locate the places referenced in the news and other sources. My advice is to pay the few extra bucks for lamination. I have other large unlaminated wall maps that sag when the humidity is high. Like some others, shipping managed to bend it which resulted in permanent unsightly creases down the middle. I don't fault the packageing because it was well prepared for shipping. Even with the creases I am happy with the purchase. This would be a great gift idea for students.
nice but dented map November 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My only problem with this item was the delivery method-super saver shipping with the USPS. It arrived in a long tube that had obviously been bent in half. The map itself was dented but not ripped. I chose not to get involved with the headache of dealing with USPS & Amazon to return the map. I can live with it. However, I would caution others to not think economics with this item. The other options may be more advantageous. And, if you have a mall nearby, take a drive and get it yourself.
Great for the price October 10, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a pretty nice map for the price. It's thinner than I expected and it has plastic strips across the top and bottom to give it some rigidity. The "lamination" is more like a plastic coating than what I would expect after reading "laminated map." Overall, I think its great for less than $12 shipped. Delivery was very fast and it came in a triangular shipping tube. The map itself was only protected inside this tube by plastic wrap...so it bounced around during shipping causing some slight crinkles at the edges, but the map arrived in reasonably good shape. If the map were enclosed in a tighter fitting plastic tube, which was then put in the shipping container, there would be zero damage during shipment. Oh well. Its still worth the price.
Good Product, but poor delivery by AMZN July 14, 2008 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Great Product, updated to reflect recent geopolitical changes. However, the box that AMZN shipped the rolled up map in broke in half while in UPS's possession, crumpling up the rolled up map completely. In true form to AMZN's great service, a replacement was sent along as a return postage for the damaged map. Unfortunately, the replacement was sent in the same exact type of packaging and broke in UPS's possession again! The second time, the damage was not nearly as bad, leaving only one small crease in the map, so I decided to just keep it. AMZN should probably change it's practice of using standard shipping tubes instead of long triangular boxes that can break fairly easily in shipper's hands.
