No More Landfill January 6, 2009 This "kanteen" is the perfect answer to portable water. Instead of buying cases of bottled water, I purchase & use the refill service for gallon containers of R.O. water at my local grocery store, thereby getting better water and only paying $0.99 per refill instead of $5.00 to $8.00 on a case of "who knows what's in that bottle" water. The one drawback, it's not an insulated carrier so liquids are at room temperatures and if you put in something hot, beware of toasted fingers.
Klean Kanteen SS bottle January 6, 2009 Great product. Had 2 & got 2 more. Very sanitary & easy to clean. Used these to replace plastic water bottles.
Klean Kanteens are the best! January 6, 2009 We now have 5 or 6 different Klean Kanteens in our house: 12oz with sippy tops, 18oz and 27oz sizes. We love them! We've given several as gifts to family members, to encourage them to use stainless steel bottles instead of plastic.
Klean Kanteens fit perfectly in car cup holders, stroller cup holders, and bicycle bottle brackets. They are easy to wash, and they don't leak. The screw-on tops are great.
I also bought a stainless steel bottle from New Wave Enviro a few months ago... and it's crap. The top doesn't thread into the bottle easily (it threads unevenly and slips often), and it leaks if the bottle falls over in your bag!
Definitely stick with the Klean Kanteen brand.
Nice finish. It is made well January 6, 2009 Although the cap is a little bit cheap made, it seems to work just fine for the 12 Oz bottle. Like many said, I can see the glue on the O ring cap might be seperate over time with larger bottle. As far as the bottle itself, I would rate it A+
a greener way to go January 6, 2009 I felt guilty using 'bought' water every week at exercise class, but it took me a while to find a stainless bottle with a sport top (for some reason the tops were always sold out). I love this one, and it holds just enough water to get me through a class. However...it's a very tight fit in many of the cages on the bikes at spinning class, and difficult to get in and out (so it now straddles the handlebars, on top of my towel).
