Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Climbers come to Yosemite to challenge the walls, peaks, and granite domes of one of the most famous places on earth. This book brings to life the stories of Yosemite's adventurous rock climbers.

The book describes early developments in Yosemite climbing, contains lively narratives of the Park's classic climbs, includes updated accounts of the accomplishments of modern climbers, and speculates about the future of Yosemite climbing. Laced throughout with color and black and white photographs, this book tells the climbers' stories. Foreword by Royal Robbins.

4 out of 5 stars Good history of climbing in Yosemite   January 26, 1998
5 out of 5 found this review helpful

Overall, a good history of climbing in Yosemite that covers early years to the early 1990's. Some well written narratives, but occasionally dry at times. If you want a better history of the years before 1970, read "Camp 4," by Steve Roper.
